Trusting the Trust Moi

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Running a snowboard company sometimes means having to propagate a server migration, despite not knowing how to do it. First time for everything, right? So while I’m logging in nerd time, Jens from the Unfamiliar crew in Germany was scoring pow and trusting his Trust Me in the trees of Brighton. Hey, at least it’s snowing in Tahoe. Mr. Big Head Horror Show

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

AKA, the Super Starr himself has been crashing at Hotel Singer with his special buddy, Jasmine, who’s not a stripper but a pitbull. Dog. If you’re in Tahoe, keep an eye out for a Freddy Kruger sweater-wearing lurker at a resort near you! Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Black on Black

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

It’s starting to snow again in Tahoe, which is always a good thing and never bad. Not quite looking like the snow in this shot, though. Usually all-black indicates one Joe Singer, but this is Takahiro Sogai. And it’s not Tahoe, it’s Japan. My most and least favorite aspect of cornice drops is that you can’t see over the edge before you jump. It’s a leap of faith. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Rocker

Monday, February 15th, 2010

It’s seriously spring conditions out here in Tahoe which would be great if it was spring and not February. Although shredding slushy parks can be fun, let’s keep hoping we have more winter on the way. Here’s a cute Brent rocker in Mammoth. Photo: Jerod Anklam. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

30 Stairs, 2 Knees, 1 Drop

Koji

Koji has been busy in the land of Japan. Not just taking this Oddball on a short domestic flight, but check out his series of shred clips on YouTube here. Koji is busy busy busy. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Denver Time

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

It’s that time of year and SIA is upon us. This time in Denver. I don’t fully understand the move. When we had to drag ourselves to SIA in the past, at least we’re dragging to Vegas. But whatever, work is work and it’s gotta get done. Denver could be cool, Denver could be cool, and i’m looking forward to seeing old homies and getting down. Sort of like Mike Ronnie who’s getting down on this flat down at Sierra-at-Tahoe. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Joe Breakin’

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Well, 2010 is on top of us and the Holiday Season is over. Which means it’s back to work time. This is fine with me. I like to work. Joe P? He likes to break. Photo: Riley Proctor. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Russians are known for their lack of fear

Monday, December 28th, 2009

And they fear no wood jibs, neither. (Fear does not exist in this dojo). What better way to bring in the New Year than frontboarding a log gap? Agent Green, Russia. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

If you: are gonna shred, live in the SF Bay Area, or have web access (as you obviously do to read this), then may we suggest SFO on Haight St. They’re THE snowboard shop in San Francisco and can take care of all your shred needs. Plus Wayne likes the attention. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Fighting Time and Winning

Friday, December 18th, 2009

While I’m sitting here in Tahoe waiting for more snow and the Holiday week to take us by siege, peep Spain-based Agent Nestor Bombin fighting time on a rail in Val Thorens, France. And for more quality time burning, check out this great bit of reading on Mike LeBlanc via David Benedek. Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Holiday Season Hail Mary

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

The Holiday Season is upon us and Xmas week is rapidly approaching. Means it’s getting busy around here. Before we get buried butt-deep in work and snow, I wanted to toss out some Holiday cheer. This piece is from Friedemann Zschiedrich hailing from Hamburg, Germany. Happy Holidays from Automaton! Snowboarding Saves Lives!

Introducing… Cheeseboarder

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Yet another piece in the Automaton war machine, Cheeseboarder brings your favoritest snowboard brand to their Belgium-based operations. Calfornia’s getting snow from Tahoe all the way down to Lodi. Hold thumbs for a solid winter worldwide! Snowboarding Saves Lives!

From Norway With Love

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I went to get the mail yesterday and got buried in SASE’s for stickers which is cool. Gotta get them out there, and people love stickers. However, I noticed that some of the envelopes were dated as far back as September! For really. And we JUST got them yesterday. Now I’m not so into pointing fingers, but it’s tough not to find the fault for this one. Postmarked Sept. and arrives Dec.? Yeah. Generally we get the SASE’s back into the mail within days, so I apologize to those of you waiting for your fresh new Automaton stickers since summer. Got all of them out the door today, though, so hopefully you-know-who will deliver them before next summer. Heck, stickers are even making the rounds in Norway.
